The Smartphone Beta Test is NOT Over

I never want to agree with Microsoft - but I think their Windows Phone commercial is dead on - especially with this carrier. The Smartphone beta test is not over.

I have tweeted, google +'d, and Facebooked about this company in the past: They are called Republic wireless. Long story short, it's a wi-fi preferred service (they prefer you to connect to wi-fi with your phone to make VOIP calls - unlimited). What if you don't have access to a wi-fi connection? Well, you can still use their mobile phone network (Sprint is used for it's backbone). What's the catch?

The catch is that you must buy the phone up front from Republic Wireless - You'll get that money back very fast though, when you realize the monthly cost is only $19. To me, the phone prices seem typical for having to buy them unconsolidated.

I'm writing about Republic Wireless today, only because I finally got my invite to their beta - That doesn't mean it's free. I can say with certainty, that my spot is not "Coveted". I'm almost able to have access to paying them money for a plan. Honestly, the first reader to write me and ask for access, I'd give up my spot.

I've contacted Republic on numerous occasions and they have never responded - not a good sign. If you want to take people's money, you just might have to do a little better than that. So before you write me, begging for a spot, I figured I'd just give you a heads up.

I think Republic Wireless is a great concept. I could only imagine if other (bigger) carriers follow this trend - it would probably destroy Republic and their paying "beta" users. I think the only name that is entitled to call something beta would be the big "G"; I just mean that they're the best at Beta that I've ever seen.

I'm in Wave K - whatever that means.
