Get Android App: Mp3 Search and Download Pro V2

A big thing I love about Android is that many of the apps, we all know, would never be approved in other App Stores. Even if an app is not approved for android market Google Play, Google Android makes it easier than ever to side-load an apk (installer). Once a week, I'm going to plan on introducing an app that is new or not yet popular.

I have downloaded dozens of different "mp3 downloader" apps for Android. I sort of noticed a pattern with them, however, and it sort of goes like this:

  • Great Downloader app that can find any song, has clean and simple interface.
  • App gets an update from the Play store and starts to have ads.
  • App sucks

Last night, I downloaded an MP3 app that seems to have more robust functions right from the get go such as Playlists, Albums, Songs, and Artist categorization. It's an improved version that the dev describes as: "Better than the First Version". The MP3 Download app is called  Mp3 Search and Download Pro V2.

I threw a few odd-genre songs at it, and it found them, and I could download them in high quality. Please note that this app does have Ads, but they're not ridiculous, in my opinion. Mp3 Search and Download Pro V2 is available in the Google Play Store for free and it's under 1mb in size. Go. Get Android!

Moto Razr Extends to South Asia

Although the software update to ICS has taken longer than anticipated, the Droid Razr Maxx is moving in physical form, regardless. In addition to the Razr Maxx, the Razr V is also coming to "India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand".

The Razr V will be available in the 3rd Quarter of 2012, according to Motorola. I have no word on pricing for the Razr V at this time but the price of the Razr Maxx will be INR 31,590. According to MoneyConverter.com, here is the price in USD.

Thriving Thursday Deal: Toshiba Thrive 10" on Groupon

Is this deal good enough for you to get Android? Today's Groupon email deal is offering a refurbished Toshiba Thrive notebook Tablet. Seriously, this thing has been known to be a little clunky (around 1.7 lbs!), but it has a nice, rugged backing. Another unusual thing about this tablet is that it has a standard SD Card slot (even further backing my strikeout notebook remark above).

You can pick it up with included shipping for $239. I am considering picking one up for testing purposes or maybe it'd be a great Father's Day gift. Here's a quick description of the tablet found on the groupon site. Take care and thanks for Getting Android.

Poll Results: Thoughts On G+ Android App

It has been approximately a week and I have decided to compile the poll results. I asked readers their take on the latest Google Plus Android app. The results weren't totally shocking in my opinion. I think the results do indicate that the number of Google Plus users are increasing (obviously we already knew that) because of the 0 surveyors answering that they do not use the app.

I know that Google actively listens to their user's concerns, so I don't think it will be long before the app is improved - just a guess though. It is comforting to know that I'm not the only one that hopes for UI improvements to this app.

Celebrate Father's Day: Get a Free 4G Smartphone from T-Mobile

June 15th through the 16th, T-Mobile is offering all 4G smartphones and select broadband devices for free with a qualifying contract. Yes, that even includes devices like the HTC One S and the Galaxy SII - two of their most expensive smartphones. Sure, this applies to every brand of 4G Smartphones, but If I were you, I'd Get Android.

Will Dev Conference Prices Attract More Developers to Android? - WWDC (Apple)

I am not a developer. I just happened to notice today that WWDC is trending on Google Plus. You might have heard about the MG Siegler article I wrote about a few days ago. In his article that I'm referring to, MG touches base on Developers choosing to develop on iOS first before going to Android. So, after seeing the WWDC trend on G+, I decided to look into it a little bit and visit Apple's Developer page.

Even though it has already sold out, if you're at least 13 years old, a paid iOS Developer, and can fork out the $1,599, you can go to the next conference when tickets become available.

Now let me compare those WWDC ticket price to Android: It's not a big difference . . .If you are comparing the highest-priced Android Dev ticket at $1,495, it is still cheaper than the WWDC price at $1,599. Also note from the below screenshot that, with Android, you're always getting more for your money; It always seems to be this way, with Apps, hardware, and updates - just my two cents, though. As of this post, Android is currently at 900,000 activations - daily! Just weeks ago, the activations were at 750,000 - The growth seems unstoppable.

Back to the Mac, in the following screenshot, you can see it states to "Bring your Macbook".  I almost thought the price of those tickets might include the Macbook (maybe even a refurbished one?). I think I might just stick with my $250 Netbook PC for now that Can run Linux, Windows, and potentially (wait for it), Android!

Oh, Oh, Oh, MG's cryin' - As Android Takes Over the Planet

Let's face it, MG Siegler is a fantastic writer. It's no secret that he's an outspoken Apple supporter, even calling himself a fanboy. His articles are a joy to read, and he brings up many interesting facts. Yesterday he posted an article that, in my opinion, sounds a bit like a case of sour grapes.

MG calls out Eric Schmidt (Executive Chairman at Google) on a 'forecast' (if you will) about Google having some "iOS-slaying Android exclusive apps", but apparently never happening. He also mentions ICS not being supported by every vendor as Schmidt had brought up. MG mentions the term "epic fail" in approximately every paragraph, the word "pathetic", along with a curse word, here and there as well - very professional and I'm sure Apple users love having him as their voice.

POLL: What's Your Take on the Latest Google+ Android App?

It's not a surprise that there are mixed feelings regarding an app's UI changes. This time it's Google+ for Android. I would have to say that I've mostly seen positive feedback on the app's new look. The only negative comments I have noticed are in regard to each post's individual background and whether or not it's contrast relation to the text will make it harder to read or not. The following 3 screenshots that I snapped  are exactly what I'm talking about. Every post is a different story: whether or not the text is easily readable.

Androidify and Other Nerdy Android Fun

The Android Robot is insanely popular nowadays. Chances are, you or someone you know already use an Android product. Just visiting sites like FEEbay, you'll likely stumble on some sort of Android Robot accessory, like the ones pictured above.
